The Canadian Death Race: Never Too Young to face the Death Race
Yes, if you are 15 years old or younger we have a mini-extreme course you can call your own! As a result of numerous requests we now offer a Kids Death Race run during the Canadian Death Run in August. The course is approximately 5km long on wilderness trails, with one big mud pit, which everyone must wade through, and one big hill that comes near the end of the course. If you can get mom and dad to sign off on your Death Warrant (waiver), which is not an easy thing to do, this is the best way we know to introduce youngsters to the sport of adventure racing (the course is closely supervised by adults).
Age Groups are recognized as follows: 9 and under, 10 to 12 years old, and 13 to 15 years old. Early Reistration fee is $25 (Late is $45 minus $5 if you register on-line) and includes a T-shirt, a Kids Race Kit Goody Bag and usually assorted other goodies like a water bottle etc. Any one making the cut-off time (90 minutes for 5km) is a winner and will receive a Death Race finisher’s medal! Ice cream will be served at the finish line! Parents may accompany their children on the wilderness portion of the trail. Children must start and finish on their own. The kids are required to carry their own food and water for the entire race - there are no aid stations.
