ABOUT THE KIDS DEATH RACE
This the best way we know to introduce kids to the sport of adventure racing. The Kids Death Race takes place on the Sunday of each August long weekend, and is one of the highlights of the weekend. The course is approximately 5km long on wilderness trails, with one big mud pit, which everyone must wade through, and one big hill that comes near the end of the course. Anyone making the cut-off time (90 minutes for 5km) is a winner and will receive a Kids Death Race finisher’s medal!
The course is closely supervised by adults. Parents may accompany their children on the wilderness portion of the trail. Children must start and finish the race to the greatest extent possible on their own, although some very young children and kids with special needs may need parental assistance. Kids are required to carry their own food and water for the entire race - there are no aid stations.
Over the years the kids’ death race has become quite popular and very, very competitive. Parents be advised that smaller, less competitive, or slower children must go to the back of the starting line. We provide the barf buckets, but parents...please use common sense when fueling your little racer before the event!

WAIVER
DEATH WARRANTS (Waivers) must be signed by parent/legal guardian for each child. Parents must MAIL OR FAX a signed waiver for each child BY 1st JULY 2009. Kids who don’t have signed waivers on file will be pulled from the race roster. Don’t let this happen!

KIDS REGISTRATION CLOSES JULY 1st
The Kids Race is open to Death Racers who under the age of 16 on August 1st, 2009. Sign up friends, but only til July 1st, or until the race is full! We accept the first 250 kids.
ENTRY FEES
Kids Race Entry Fees are $45 +gst ($25 if registered on/before March 1st!) As with the adult race, there are NO REFUNDS, as it is an administrative burden our office simply cannot handle given the scale of the entire weekend of events. Thank you for your understanding.

KIDS RACE KIT PICKUP:
Pick up Kids Race Kits Friday Night at the Rec Centre at Race Registration, on Saturday at the Grande Cache Hotel, or at the Start Finish Line.

AUG 1 (SAT), Grande Cache Hotel Front Desk
AUG 2 (SUN), 12 -1pm at start/Finish line.
AUG 2 (SUN) – KIDS RACE DAY

Opening Ceremonies: 1:40 pm
KIDS RACE START: 2 pm
